New Orbita�s watchwinder, SPARTA, is a unique winder for mechanical watches that instead of rotating the watch in order to wind it, SPARTA winder gently �€�swings�€� the watch to wind it. NEW DUAL-MODE OPERATION. A timing switch permits selection of the winding cycle: 10 minutes (standard program) or 15 minutes (extended program). Many watches that wind in both directions stay fully wound on the extended setting, increasing battery life by as much as 50%. The built in microprocessor activates a servomotor causing the watch to swing back and forth for several oscillations just as it would if it was being worn on the wrist.

The oscillating winding action of the winder is totally self-regulating and there is absolutely no chance on damaging an expensive watch by overwinding. Moreover, as the servomotor powers only the first oscillation in each cycle with all succeeding oscillations totally powered by gravity, therefore battery draw is minimal. SPARTA winder is guaranteed to operate for one year without any need for a battery change.

The SPARTA winder is attractively priced and quite attractive in appearance. The faux black leather frame with black matte side plates in stylish and blends into any d����©cor. The watch is easily mounted on foam cushion, which accommodates virtually any wrist size watch. The cushion slips into drive cup that is tilted back at 60 degrees, making it impossible for the watch to fall off as the cup �€�swings.�€�
